Another month gone by, another delivery of the California Wine Club. What a way to make a girl girl’s husband feel pampered.

For the second month in a row, we’ve been recipients of the California Wine Club’s Premier Club Membership. It’s their most popular wine club membership features two bottles of award-winning wine from California’s best “mom & pop” wineries. No membership fees, cancel anytime and all wines are 100% guaranteed.

Pretty great, right?

OK, really great. Once again, California Wine Club saved me from standing in front of the rows and rows of wine, wondering what to buy for my dear husband. THANK YOU for making it easier. Seriously, THANK YOU. (Can I say thank you again?)

This months selection had two wines from Castoro Cellars. The ‘Blind Faith’ Pinot Noir, Paso 2010 was enjoyed by my husband. I’m not sure if it was technically the “right pairing” but we had a beef brisket for dinner that night. While it’s a new wine (just bottled in September of this year) he couldn’t resist opening the bottle to enjoy it’s smoky flavors.

We also received a bottle of Gewurztraminer, Paso Roble 2010. We haven’t enjoyed the Gerwurz yet, I plan on sharing it with friends next time we get together. A sweeter wine, the fermentation process was stopped at eight weeks. The Gewurz is best enjoyed within one year, no worries, we’ll be cracking the bottle open before the end of 2011.

I’m not sure if I mentioned last month that California Wine Club actually includes a copy of “Uncorked” with the wine shipment. “Uncorked” is a a brief yet informational wine magazine full of great facts about wine. It’s really helpful again, for a uneducated wine person like myself. From articles about the wine received this month to a selection of AMAZING wines to order, it’s a nice, quick read, and a real bonus to our membership.

If you remember, last month I gave you the low down on how the wine club works, so I won’t do that again. Want to keep on the latest and greatest from The California Wine Club? Be sure to follow them on Facebook at  The California Wine Club and The Boring Wine Guy and Twitter at@cawineclub and @boringwineguy You’ll find tips on wines, specials and more.

I’m bittersweet, next month is our last month we will be receiving the California Wine Club. I’m excited though, because we are entering the holiday season, and that can only mean one thing – HOLIDAY WINES! And I am really looking forward to seeing what California Wine Club has up their sleeve for me!

If you are interested in experience the Premier Club Membership from California Wine Club yourself, you’ll receive a 10% discount AND a free bottle of wine in your first month’s shipment. PLUS, receive a special 10% discount on EVERY gift order you place. Please use the code “maven” at checkout!

BUT WAIT, I’m not done yet!

I love white wine, almost all but I have run into a few I didn’t care for. I prefer reds for the most part, but I’ve recently taken a liking to Pinot Grigio.
