Delicious lunches, made easy…

Life can be hectic, and sometimes what I throw together for myself as a lunch really isn’t a lunch. At least by nutritional standards, so when I was offered the chance new Healthy Choice Top Chef Inspired Café Steamers I replied with a YES!

The Healthy Choice brand name is a familiar one in our household, as my husband frequently picks them up for HIS lunches, but I had not tried them before.

Apparently I’ve been missing out.

First, let’s talk about how EASY they are.

We’re talking as simple as removing from the packaging, placing in the microwave for a few minutes (depending on the entree), removing from the microwave, removing the plastic film and stirring the steamed food into the sauce bowl. Then enjoy.

That EASY…

The new Healthy Choice Top Chef Inspired Café Steamers I tried were really good.

The Chicken Linguini with Red Pepper Alfredo had just the right amount of spice and heat without overpowering the flavors of the chicken and vegetables. The broccoli stayed crisp when I heated in the microwave, which almost NEVER happens with microwave meals. There was a perfect balance of chicken and pasta too.

Then there was the Grilled Chicken Marinara with Parmesan with its whole grain penne, delicious marinara with a tiny bit of kick, and again, perfectly cooked broccoli. Really yummy. I love marinara sauce so this one was a real winner and my favorite of the two meals.

With both entrees I was pleasantly surprised how well the meals were cooked and that they didn’t taste like the microwave meals I am used to (which is why I’ve always been reluctant to try them. The pasta was cooked well, the vegetables were crisp and the sauces were, well, just the right amount of saucy.

In fact, there are a whole new line of Healthy Choice Top Chef Inspired Café Steamers. You can see them and all of the other meals from the Healthy Choice Café Steamers line PLUS get coupons to try them here.

Would I get the Healthy Choice Top Chef Inspired Café Steamers to eat everyday? Probably not, as it’s not practical. But I can’t beat the taste and simplicity for a quick and easy microwave meal when I don’t have a lot of time to make myself lunch.
